The Juhan Liiv Museum is located along the Tartu–Kallaste highway, 36 kilometres from Tartu. The nearest larger centre, Alatskivi, is four kilometres away. A large parking area for visitors is located next to the entrance road.
For those travelling by public transport, bus stops from both Tartu and Alatskivi directions are conveniently located at the museum access road. The bus stop is called Rupsi. You can find detailed bus timetables here.
The Juhan Liiv Museum is situated on a three-hectare site. The museum complex consists of three main buildings:
- Main House (ticket sales, permanent Kodavere exhibition and a part of the exhibition “Mind Tides / Mind Torments )
- Exhibition House (permanent exhibitions on two floors and a temporary exhibition space on the ground floor)
- Juhan Liiv’s home (traditional Estonian barn dwelling)
In addition, exhibitions are displayed in the outdoor area. Well-behaved pets are welcome when accompanied by their owners.
